The "Coutil Marine" tablecloth is authentic Basque Linen. Its 7 stripes symbolize the 7 Basque provinces, while the thick linen, with its slight natural irregularities, reveals all the character of this traditional textile. The blue stripes bring a graphic and timeless touch to the table.

Woven and crafted in France, in our workshop in Orthez (64), it benefits from the Basque Linen Geographical Indication, a guarantee of local and preserved textile expertise.

Each tablecloth is carefully folded in its fabric packaging, which is reusable and made in our workshops: ready to be given as a gift or used as soon as it arrives at your home*. (*excluding promotional items)

Size guide

How to choose the right tablecloth?

All our tablecloths are 170 cm wide. Measure the length of your table and add about 50 cm for an elegant overhang.
Estimating without measuring: count about 60 cm per guest — 170×170 cm (4–6 settings), 170×250 cm (6–8 settings), 170×300 cm (8–10 settings).
Remember to measure the table with its extensions and choose a square tablecloth for round tables for a harmonious drape.
Choosing the right material:

. 100% cotton: flexible, soft, and easy to live with every day.

. Cotton & linen: thicker, for a structured and warm drape.

. Coated: stain-resistant and waterproof, ideal for both indoors and outdoors.

Our tablecloths are cut with a margin to maintain their dimensions after the first wash.

MADE IN FRANCE

Tissage Moutet designs and manufactures high-end table and home linen in France, drawing on textile expertise passed down for over 150 years.

From the spool of cotton or linen thread right through to the preparation of your order, every stage of production takes place in our weaving workshop in Orthez, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. The dyeing of our yarns is carried out by a workshop located just 60 km away, which holds the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label.

Our exceptional expertise and our commitments are recognised by the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label, the Linge Basque Geographical Indication and our membership of Ateliers d’Art de France.

CREATION

The Moutet team embodies the brand’s signature style, which is the result of traditional textile craftsmanship: quality, intricate weaves, jacquard weaving and touches of embroidery. Always on the lookout for new talent, the design studio seeks out designers – both men and women – to bring table and home linen to life in a visionary and original way. Drawing also on the archives, it reinterprets the iconic designs from Maison Moutet’s heritage and demonstrates, collection after collection, that Linge Basque (GI) is more timeless and on-trend than ever.

DELIVERY & RETURNS

Delivery

Orders are dispatched within 24 to 72 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays). Delivery to mainland France via Colissimo (2–3 days), via Mondial Relay (5 days), via DHL within Europe (4–5 days), and worldwide (5–6 days).

Product returns

Returns are accepted within 30 days of the date of receipt. For returns, a pre-paid label (€5 to be deducted from the refund) is available on request.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

This product does not require any special care, provided you follow a few simple guidelines. All our fabrics are machine-washable at up to 60°. We recommend washing them for the first time at 30°.

Choose a washing powder without optical brighteners or bleaching agents to preserve the vibrancy of the colours. Use fabric softeners sparingly, as they reduce the fabric’s absorbency. A slight shrinkage of natural fibres is normal after the first few washes.

After washing, remove the laundry from the machine promptly to prevent creases; air-dry or tumble-dry at a moderate temperature, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

If a stain appears, treat it promptly with a suitable pre-wash stain remover or a specific remedy depending on the type of stain. Never iron a garment until the stain has completely disappeared.

The design team at Tissage Moutet regularly draws on its own archives to reinterpret the most iconic designs from the company’s heritage. Each year, the Basque linen collection is thus enriched with new rediscovered icons, redesigned for the modern day.

Through this work, carried out entirely in Orthez, Tissage Moutet demonstrates its expertise as a designer and weaver of table linen – expertise recognised by the ‘Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant’ and ‘Indication Géographique Linge Basque’ labels.
